If these are some of the questions or worries you have - I can help!

I’m not only a therapist but I’m also a mother of two energetic boys under 5 so I understand how important it is for my recommendations to be practical and that can fit easily into a busy family routine.  My aim is to empower parents to feel confident in understanding and knowing a range of approaches to help support their child on a daily basis, not add to the stresses of daily life.

Do I need to be in session?

Yes. In order to get the most from therapy it’s vital that parents and care givers understand the importance of their role in learning the approaches I use, as you will be the ones who will be implementing strategies on a daily basis throughout the day, changing you’re communicating style to help you’re child and carrying out activities regularly to ensure practice and generalisation of the skills we learn together in sessions.

Will his Autism go away?

No. Autism is a life long condition however a child’s needs may change so how they present now may not be how they present when they are older. I have personal experience with Autism as my sister, now 35 is Autistic. When my sister was a little girl my mother was told my sister wouldn’t  talk, however a few years later speech developed and now she is very verbal however her social understanding of language is her main difficulty and always will be. Fay has a lot to say and uses language in a variety of ways to communicate her needs, comment on her environment and question, though she may need some support in the appropriateness of what she says sometimes. Despite the latter I wouldn’t have her any other way we have had lots of laughs throughout life as a family and she is the inspiration on my work and career.

Attractive Young Woman

We have seen our four year old autistic son’s speech and communication really improve through the sessions with Amy. Amy makes the speech therapy sessions happy, fun and very encouraging for the child and is very flexible in her approach. She also gives really useful speech and language advice for the parents to communicate with their child.

Elegant Female

Highly recommend Amy’s Speech Therapy, we are so glad we found her, we can’t praise Amy enough for all she has done for our daughter.
From the first time meeting Amy, she put us all at complete ease & our daughter warmed to her straight away. We needed help with our daughter’s speech, as she was struggling with speech delay & getting very frustrated about it. I sensed for a while that our daughter had Autism, with the guidance of Amy, I knew who I had to see to get the right diagnosis.
We have been seeing Amy weekly since January & the progression in our daughters speech is outstanding. We have all learnt so much from Amy, we feel we understand our daughter more & we know how to help her better. Amy gives us things to do weekly & guides us with the right tools, she has great ideas on how to make it more fun.
If your child is struggling with their speech, don’t hesitate to get in touch with Amy, she is so kind & friendly, she really understands children, I feel she gets on their level & makes learning different methods in speech more enjoyable.
We can’t thank you enough Amy, thank you for all you have done for us. I’m not as stressed as I used to be & feel more confident in guiding our daughter the right way. It’s wonderful watching our daughter blossom & growing more confident with her speech.

My daughter has made good progress after session with Amy through attention games, play  activities and colourful semantics. Amy has taught myself as a parent how to interact better with my child with autism encouraging verbal responses as well as managing behaviour. We have enjoyed our sessions with Amy and will miss her. Thank you for all your help x

Mature Businessman

I’d like to give Amy a fantastic outstanding review as my son who is two is speech delayed and his attention wasn’t very good and we’ve been seeing her for a little while and can see a big improvement his attention has improved he says more words.

Shes a very kind lady and makes Joshua very happy and settled.

She models out things for me to do with him at home and he will do them with me now where before he wouldn’t stay still at all.

He even cries when she leaves as he doesn’t want her to leave!

I recommend her very much so

Woman in Yellow

Amy is one of the best speech and language therapists that we had to work with

She has been helping my 5 year old son with his speech for 4 months so far, and we are not planning to stop sessions

My son has a tremendous progress in his speech, and  I’m very and very pleased with the results so far. When first started, my son was communicating in single-two words. Now, with different techniques being introduced by Amy, he is starting to talk in sentences, and he is very talkative now overall

If some of the techniques are not suitable for us for some reason, Amy always ready to introduce an alternative. Amy also doing school visits frequently for us, and there’s has been a good communication and understanding between her and school

Amy is very flexible and reliable person, who is always on time. If there are any changes travel wise, she always keeps in touch with me and let me know straight away. She’s very friendly, kind and patient person, who is ready to help any time of the day! My son is also very used to her now, and likes her very much

We look forward for more and more sessions !

Smiling Young Man

Amy was amazing with my son. She was very patient and explained everything in a very calm manner. I cannot recommend Amy enough, she was very helpful and has been so accommodating to our needs, to which I am very grateful for.

Senior Man

Amy is brilliant with my son. She understands they have good days and bad days. My son gets so excited to see her. Amy is very helpful and happily answers any questions or concerns you might have.

She has done amazing with my son and how helpful she has been for me for teaching him new things for him to learn and do and it’s amazing to see the progress he has made since seeing her!

Male Portrait

Amy is honestly so amazing! I would be lost without her helping my little boy with his speech and social interaction skills. He was 3 and almost completely non-verbal and only just diagnosed with ASD and speech delay when Amy came into our lives. We’ve been through all the stages and emotions of helping my little boy communicate his needs and wants. Starting with ‘Amy’s bucket!’ he started to focus on Amy and listen and understand slowly but surely. He learnt how to use PECS for his basic communication needs, up to not needing to use it anymore as his speech developed so well. He used colourful semantics to help his sentence skills and now can tell me what is happening around us when out on walks such as ‘the man is riding the bike’ or ‘the dog is running’. He’s building sentences now with 8 or more words with true meaning and using ‘the’ ‘is’ and ‘because’. I couldn’t be without Amy. I honestly don’t know what I would have done without her helping my son, I will be eternally grateful. He adores her and can’t wait to see her every session! Thank you a million times Amy!
